PECC Programs

About our Program

The Plymouth Public Preschool is an inclusive preschool serving students of ALL abilities. Our inclusive program is designed for students with and without disabilities to learn and grow together. Children ages 3-5 are eligible for the program. Our half day integrated classrooms have a morning or an afternoon session. Each session is 2.5 hours. There are a maximum of 15 students per classroom. Eight students are typically developing peers and up to 7 students can be identified as having special needs. In addition, we offer substantially separate programs for students with more intensive needs.

Our curriculum content is based on the Massachusetts Standards for Early Childhood Program standards for Three and Four-Year Olds and The Guidelines for Preschool Experiences. We utilize social and emotional approaches to learning and play. Our curriculum promotes independence, develops school readiness and teaches tolerance through play. Classrooms are language based and provide opportunities for students to learn using a variety of instructional practices.

Teachers hold Massachusetts teaching certificates in the area of Special Education and Early Childhood Education. They meet the standards of highly qualified as defined by the Massachusetts Department of Education. Our teaching assistants have years of experience working with children. Our staff is committed to providing a high quality preschool experience for all students.

Our related service staff include speech and language pathologists and assistants, an occupational therapist and assistant and a physical therapist. The program also has access to a teacher of the visually impaired, hearing impaired, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Registered Behavior Technician.
