Substitutes

Our district has opportunities to substitute for teachers, nurses, paraprofessionals and cafeteria workers.

Rates for teacher coverage are as follows:

  • $125 per day for substitutes that are non-certified

  • $150 per day for substitutes who are currently certified by the MA DESE or retired teachers outside of Plymouth Public Schools

  • $175 per day for any teacher who retired from Plymouth Public Schools

  • $279 per day for any substitute who covers a long-term assignment that lasts a minimum of 21 days (rate increase will occur on the 21st consecutive work day in the same assignment).

Qualifications for teacher coverage are as follows:

  1. Minimum of 60 college credits required.

  2. Prior teaching experience preferred.

  3. Current DESE license preferred.
