EDTV Student Film Festival

📣 We’re thrilled to announce the EDTV Student Film Festival is returning for its 5th year, and it’s getting a major makeover! New award categories, more prizes, and a brand new submission format are just some of the exciting new changes we’ve made to make this year’s festival the best it’s ever been.

First off, we’re switching up the festival format, ditching our traditional film categories in favor of genres - Drama, Mystery, and Comedy. Feel free to create a film in any style you choose, so long as it fits into one of the three genres.

🎥 Additionally, we’re asking all filmmakers to include two unique details in their films - a prop and a line of dialogue! This year’s prop…is a clock. And the line of dialogue? ‘That’s not trash’. How you use these prompts, literally or in the abstract, is up to you, but we hope they help to enhance your creativity during the filmmaking process.

📸 We’re also expanding our photography category, adding three distinct styles for you to choose from: Still-life, portrait, and Abstract. You can submit a photo into any of the three categories, but your photo must also include a reference to the same prop used in the film portion of the festival - a clock.

🏆 Finally, let’s dig into the fun stuff - the awards! In addition to our festival mainstays like the Industry and Audience awards, we also have some exciting new feature awards, including ‘Most Original Concept’, ‘Best Use of Prop’, and ‘Best Use of Dialogue Line’.
