CHILD FIND/NOTICE OF SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES: The Plymouth Public Schools provides special education and related services to eligible students. These services include evaluations in the areas of the child's suspected disability as well as specialized instruction and related services such as speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy as they may relate to a child's educational program.
In accordance with Federal Law, IDEA, and Massachusetts' special education law, 603 CMR 28.00, the Plymouth Public Schools provides these services for children who are attending not only public schools but also those who are attending private schools at private expense and whose parents reside in Plymouth.
Plymouth provides all children with the opportunity to participate in the public school programs using a continuous and systematic effort to identify children in need of special education services.
The Plymouth Public Schools will arrange for the provision and evaluation of those students, ages 16-21, who have not graduated from high school and who are not now attending school, or children, ages 3 through 21 who are unable to progress effectively in a regular program due to a suspected learning disability or disability that impedes or limits their academic progress.
The Plymouth Public Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religious creed, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, homelessness, genetic information, ancestry, status as a veteran or U.S. uniformed military service member, disability, or age in admission to, treatment in, or employment in its services, programs, and activities.
